‘JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE BODY’

The path of yoga is one of knowing oneself. Our Self is made of bundles of cells that create tissues that organize themselves into body structures, all of which have frequencies of feeling and a “mind” of their own. In this workshop we will journey through the layers of the felt sense of being in order to know more of our Self.

~ Friday Evening ~ SKIN

The boundary between the inside and the outside. That first point of contact and touch the unifying envelope of your being which allows for a continuity in structure and movement- in this flow we will practice initiating movement from the skin.

~ Saturday Morning ~ MUSCLES

As we dive a layer deeper than the skin into the story tellers of our movement, the muscles that are wrapped potentiality – we will practice a dynamic asana with power and punch.

~ Saturday Afternoon ~ BONES

The elegant architecture of our body plan that dives us our body vocabulary, though the exploration of seated forward bends, hip openers and inversions we remember how to move from the felt sense of our bones.

~ Sunday Morning ~ ORGANS

The fluid contents of our body. Since ancient times from Chinese medicine to Greek practitioners our organs were thought to have great influence on our character. In this slow flow practice we will tap into the felt sense and frequency of our different organs to learn how to move from this deepest core of our being.

Each sequential session of this workshop is conceived of as a progressive weekend designed to establish the remembrance of ease in movement by looking into the feeling sense of various support structures in our body. This promises to be a comprehensive introduction to open or offer deeper exploration into the portals to the inner landscape.

Tara JudelleAbout Tara

For over 27 years Tara has experimented with all forms of movement flow, from dance to Tai Chi, to movement improvisation and ultimately yoga. An English degree from Barnard College, post-graduate studies in theatre directing and a foray into film writing and directing brought her finally to the study of yoga and meditation. Certified in the Anusara method, Tara has taught yoga extensively, both nationally and internationally, for 12 years. She has been inspired by the Body Mind Centering works of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and has studied and taught with Carlos Pomeda and Sally Kempton. For the last 4 years she has been a featured teacher as part of the yogaglo.com team, allowing the yoga conversation to stream around the globe.

In 2010 Tara moved from her home base in Los Angeles to direct a yoga program and retreat center in Bali, Indonesia, leading to her current schedule teaching workshops, retreats and teacher trainings worldwide, which can be viewed at tarajudelle.com.

Tara’s classes focus on the discovery of embodied anatomy, bringing to the yogic tradition a scientific yet playful study of the movement vocabulary of the body and the ever-expanding perceptual awareness of the human mind.
