Discover the full potential of your breath to free your body and your mind.
This 5-week Yoga course with Sarah Morris will be an opportunity to learn about and leverage the full potential of your breath. With a primary focus on breath work in yoga using Hathena exercises, you will discover new ways to strengthen your diaphragm, core and upper body muscles opening your lungs with greater awareness in preparation for Pranayama.
Each week we will focus on a specific region of the lungs to open, expand and strengthen your breath to enable a fuller, more mindful experience in your yoga practise that will indirectly cross over into your regular breath in daily life.
After attending her first yoga class in 2001, Sarah is still a curious yoga student. An ongoing journey of curiosity, yoga has since evolved into a daily practice and now habit of cultivating strength, maintaining flexibility and at times rendering moments of pure freedom of dropping out of her head and into her body; Sarah is now committed to sharing the practice of yoga with others. With much gratitude, she credits having the guidance of all her teachers (old and new), particularly Kelly Fisher (Urban Yoga’s Founder and Senior Teacher) and Katie Lane Turner (of Grassroots Yoga, Christchurch) who created the spark to a passion for yoga and continue to inspire her both on and off the mat.
After completing her Teacher Training in Bali with Bridget Woods-Kramer, including Pranayama with Ananda Leone and Philosophy Studies with Carlos Pomeda, Sarah joined the Urban Yoga Community as a teacher in 2013. It is with much gratitude for the practice that she has now made the transition in 2015 and taken the reins of running Urban Yoga and facilitating the continuation of its wonderful and creative community spirit.
