Postnatal yoga classes provide safe and healing movement to enable physical and emotional recovery from birth, alongside breathing, mindfulness and relaxation techniques to empower you in the joyful but often challenging times of parenting. During this 4 week course women will learn how to safely strengthen, tone and restore their body with focus on postural alignment and safe exercises after birth.
Self-care is often the last thing that we as Mamas think of so this course is designed for you to attend without your baby. This is so you can give true focus to your body and mind in a wonderfully supportive environment of other Mamas, helping you to create the mental space and clarity that is needed on the roller coaster ride of parenting. This course is designed so that women can take a succession of courses to fully reap the benefits of the teachings, however if time does not allow one course will give you tips and tools to maintain your own home practice too.
The classes are run in a non-judgmental environment that is supportive of all parenting styles, from the breast fed to the bottle fed, from attachment philosophies to routine led parenting. We believe there are a million and one ways to bring up babies and that each parent knows what is right for their child. The tools of yoga and mindfulness encourage Mamas to work from a place of kindness and compassion; attributes that we already embody and which we can enhance on our parenting journey.
Classes are recommended 6 weeks after birth, or 12 weeks after caesarean however if you feel able in body and mind please contact us if you wish to start earlier than this.
