Mary Goulter

Mary Goulter Urban Yoga Wellington New ZealandMary loves yoga! More than that, she knows that life can be difficult and yoga has taught her how to face these difficulties and find not only the strength to bear them but also how to fully face all of life’s experiences, from the joyful, to the challenging, to the mundane.

Mary found yoga in 2014 while living in San Francisco, shortly after completing her Masters in Cultural Anthropology. Yoga quickly became a main focus and that same year she completed a 6-month yoga immersion with Sean Haleen and Stacey Rosenberg. In 2015 she completed her 200-hour Teacher Training at Yoga Tree in San Francisco with Sean, among other top San Francisco teachers. More recently in returning to New Zealand, she found a yoga home at Grassroots Yoga & Health, in Christchurch, where she was introduced to the wonderfully dedicated teachers Katie Lane and Josh Borella.

Mary considers herself extremely fortunate to have been able to practice and study with such incredibly kind and intelligent teachers, and it is her intention to honour these teachings by giving them full expression in her life and work. She brings a compassionate and encouraging presence to her classes, and aims to make her teaching relevant and meaningful to everybody. Mary knows the value of a consistent practice, and she is honoured to share this with you at Urban Yoga.

Mary leads our current Beginners Course offering at Urban Yoga.
