Are you currently under heaps of pressure? Do you feel constantly stressed and anxious? Are you dealing with ongoing pain and tension? Then our specialty restorative yoga class is for you.
Join us in our mini urban oasis for 2hrs of 100% restorative yoga, guided meditation and simple breathing practices. All designed with the intention of helping calm the nervous system and provide you with a rare opportunity to check-out from the stresses of daily life.
Restorative yoga is different than any style of yoga you’ve done before. It’s all about supporting your body in resting postures to slowly release tension and stress from the tissues and create a powerful meditative experience. Restorative yoga is a pathway into conscious relaxation. Using a variety of bolsters and blankets to support you in various poses, you will consciously rest for specific 5-10 minute durations. In addition to the yoga postures, Megan includes simple meditation and breathing practices to enable a much deeper relaxation experience.
It’s more than just simple relaxation. The restorative yoga postures, meditation and breathing practices are designed to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system which can trigger the ‘rest and digest’ response. This counteracts the physical effects of chronic stress and will cue the body to shift to a state of relaxation. This can help lower blood pressure, improve digestion, support the optimal functioning of the immune system, release muscle tension and improve sleep. The exact opposite of ‘fight or flight’.
Whether you are an experienced yogi or new to yoga or meditation, this session is for you. Megan is an experienced restorative yoga teacher who will skilfully create a safe space that ensures everyone is comfortable so they can let go and relax. She’ll adjust blankets and bolsters so the yoga poses are unique to each body and you have the choice to try the meditation and breathing practices, or choose your own focus for relaxation.
This session is an invitation to find a deeper sense of release and calm with options to participate however you are most comfortable.
All levels welcome. Limited to 12 spaces for an individual focus to each student attending.

Megan started practicing yoga in 2002 as a way to build strength that would support her other athletic pursuits. Over time, yoga offered her a way to heal from the injuries that continued to pop-up through intense sports. She soon discovered yoga offered not only a way to recover from and avoid injuries, but helped her to understand the intricacies of her body and how to stay healthy. With regular practice and a growing interest in breath-work and meditation, she has come to value the ways in which yoga can offer physical and mental calm.
Megan has brought this understanding to her teaching style which combines subtlety and ease with a focus on strength, flexibility and alignment. Her goal when teaching is to leave students feeling better, in the way that is right for their body. She has an informal approach that encourages students to have fun and laugh along the way.
Her other passion being outdoors and Megan has been working to introduce the benefits of yoga to fellow outdoor adventures through yoga classes designed for trampers and yoga on stand up paddle-board classes.
Megan is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the international Yoga Alliance. She has completed an RYT-500 through the Byron Yoga Centre. Many teachers have inspired Megan and offered insights along the way, including Kelly Fisher, Lynda Miers-Henneveld, and the Yoga Synergy style created by Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss.
